Michael (Mike) Friedgen
Running for Iosco County Clerk

Mike lives in Tawas Township and is seeking election to the office of County Clerk on the Democratic ticket.

Mike likes working with people and helping the public.  He wants to see the County change directions and would like to help the County move forward.  He believes it is a good time for the people of Iosco County to make some positive changes within the County.

Mike has experience with responsibility.  During his Air Force career, Mike supervised aircraft repairs and inspections, directed flight line maintenance and coordinated scheduling for repairs (being credited with writing new repair procedures), assisted in the design of aircraft repapairs, performed quality control inspections for the Titan II Missile System and was the liaison between the Air Force and the Donelectron Corporation, negotiating a $1.8 million contract with the Corporation.  During his last two years in service he worked as the total quality management director for a squadron of 638 people where he was required to evaluate new changes submitted to the Air Force for all aspects of the units' needs.  He received many awards during his career, received a Associate's Degree in 1986 and a Bachelor's Degree in 1994.

Mike and his family retired home to Tawas from the Air Force in 1994 and he worked for two years with the 34th Circuit Court.  In 1996 Mike began working for the 23rd Circuit Court, Friend of the Court, as an enforcement officer.  He is currently a senior enforcement officer for the four counties of Alcona, Arenac, Iosco and Oscoda.  His current position gives him the additional knowledge of all the responsibilities needed inthe Clerk's office.  He has worked with the Michigan Attorney General's office, the Iosco County Prosecutor's office and District Court and is currently working with the State of Michigan on a program to improve the way the Friend of the Court performs enforcement procedures.  He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, and has served as the president of Chemical Works Local 1044C.  He's involved in many community activities including coaching soccer and Little League, Tawas Band Boosters and a Cub Scout/Boy Scout leader.

He's confident he will be an excellent County Clerk and asks for your support.
